Overview

Provides a variety of curriculum-based educational groups, life skills training and alternative activities for youth in schools or community centers throughout Bexar County. Prevention education, intervention and support groups are offered for parents, youth and others in a variety of settings. Prevention curriculum targets children ages 8-13 who are considered economically disadvantaged or at risk. Intervention services and activities target older youth ages 14-18 who are demonstrating risky behaviors. Project Heart helps children develop improved self esteem, the social skills necessary to help them cope and deal with current issues and trends and important skills to resist tobacco, alcohol and other drug use.
