User Reviews: The staff is more than the helpful and very understanding of addiction. This facility does a great job ensuring that clients get out in the real world during their stay via field trips, grocery shopping, and 12 step meetings. All the staff members at the facility were very passionate about their jobs and they always showed a keen interest in helping out the clients with any issues that they were facing. There is plenty of freedom to find yourself here at Crossroads - Children and Mothers Residential Program (CAMP). The programs there are great and really helpful but it’s the staff that makes all the difference. The groups were good and they teach you how to deal with your issues that cause the addiction. This place has turned out to be a blessing to me. Thanks Crossroads - Children and Mothers Residential Program (CAMP)!

User Reviews: There are many sober houses in Portland that are much less expensive whose owners care about their clients and their recoveries, not about charging in order to fatten their wallets. A staff started off doing the right thing years ago but when the $ started pouring in , he lost himself and his motovations changed from carrying the message of recovery to pure profit motivation. One guy in particular is the only thing holding that place together. Avoid FH if at all possible. Ask around the recovery community in Portland for a better house that actually has you write inventory/meet with a sponsor/ has real house meetings/ holds you to a standard that will ensure you work the steps. There are many just as nice and a lot less expensive.

Latest Reviews Of Rehab Centers In Maine ME

I am an employee, I come from a family of alcoholism, addiction and violence. When I see these women come through the doors, they are broken and lost as to the next step. The wonderful caring staff at Eureka Counseling Services Inc help them to regain their light, teaches them that they are worthy. If asked, "Would I recommend Eureka Counseling Services Inc to a family member " DEFINITELY, I would! The counselors are wonderful, caring, thoughtful and so supportive!! Eureka Counseling Services Inc strengths lie with the counselors, they are such a caring, strong group of women!! Windows, shower amenities, tech staff and intake staff. They are wonderful people. They lack focus, in turn, their attention to the patient is short and seems scattered.

I really would like to thank Lela L Lyons LADC Hope Recovery Services for there help in my recovery! The staff were very professional. She was very sweet, caring and helpful. The counselors were awesome as well. I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone seeking help.

Therapy based on individuals needs. All the staff is well educated on addiction and have a genuine love for what they do.

Their staff was very kind and energetic. Each and every staff at McLean Signature Recovery Programs: Borden Cottage will be by your side every step of the way. Awesome food, great medical staff that really cares and lots of attention from the nursing staff. Thank you McLean Signature Recovery Programs: Borden Cottage. The program reaches to several different people and meets them where they are at in their recovery. Comfortable beds and linens. I am forever grateful for the time I spent at McLean Signature Recovery Programs: Borden Cottage.

ME Substance Abuse Facts

In Maine, a state with an estimated population of over 1.3 million people, prescription drug abuse continues to be a serious public health problem.

Below are some key facts to understand the scope of substance abuse in Maine:

  • In 2015, 272 people died from a drug or alcohol overdose—representing a 55% increase since 2013.
  • In 2015, 4 out of 5 overdose deaths involved an opioid.
  • 3 out of 10 overdose deaths were benzodiazepine-related.
  • Heroin use is on the rise and is most prevalent in the southern and coastal parts of the state including York, Cumberland, Androscoggin, Kennebec, and Knox.
  • The number of deaths related to heroin, morphine, or fentanyl nearly doubled between 2014 and 2015.
  • In 2015, there were more than 1,000 notifications to Child Protective Services of babies exposed to drugs or alcohol.
  • Of all infants born in 2015 in the state, 8% had already been exposed to drugs or alcohol at birth.
  • In 2010, the cost of substance abuse in Maine was estimated to be over $1.4 billion.

Getting Addiction Treatment Help

Across the state, alcohol remains the most commonly used substance, followed by tobacco, marijuana, and prescription drugs. In 2015, more than 1 in 3 treatment centers listed alcohol abuse as the primary reason for patient admission, followed by heroin use. The number of people seeking treatment for heroin-related substance use disorders has risen steadily over the past 5 years, exceeding synthetic opiates (such as fentanyl). Among pregnant women, more than 8 out of 10 admissions to substance abuse treatment are related to opioids.

Given the serious medical, social, and personal harm that addiction can place on an individual, it’s important to seek treatment. You can begin by calling treatment centers and seeing what services they offer. If you have insurance, it will likely pay for some basic treatment services.

It’s a good idea to make a list of questions beforehand, including cost and payment options, what types of insurance plans are accepted at the facility, room types (private vs. shared), visitor policies, and so on. For additional help finding the treatment center that’s right for you, call us today to speak to a support specialist.

Where Else Can I Find Help?

For many people, cost of rehab remains a huge barrier in seeking treatment. If you do not have insurance or enough money to cover the cost of private rehab, there are ways you can get care. For example, many centers offer services based on a sliding scale, meaning that you can pay what you can based on your income.

If you are searching for a treatment program in your area, you can use SAMHSA’s free treatment locator tool. Once you enter your zip code, you can view the rehab centers in your area. You can ask the center about payment options, and what resources they offer for someone who does not have funds or insurance. There may also be local resources that help people in addiction recovery get the help they need. For example, the Portland Recovery Community Center located at 468 Forest Ave. in Portland, Maine, offers all services free of charge.
