The Department of Health is the government agency responsible for improving the health of Anne Arundel County. By State and County authority, the Department of Health is charged with enforcement of certain federal, State and County laws and regulations.

The Department of Health partners with community organizations to provide community centers for County residents in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders. The centers offer free recovery support resources, recreational activities, job and educational training, meetings and support groups. The centers are:
    On Our Own in Annapolis for adults ages 18 and older with co-occurring disorders
    Rediscovering Me Clubhouse in Brooklyn Park and H2O 4 L.I.F.E. Clubhouse in Annapolis for youth ages 12-17 who are currently or were previously in treatment for substance use
