We also offer secondary substance abuse services for those residents who are dually diagnosed or have experimented with drugs and/or alcohol. We have a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Accredited Special Needs Charter School on campus to provide Educational services for our children while they are in treatment. We offer all of the above services in The Deaf Program at Tampa Bay Academy for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children in the same age groups who have emotional and behavioral issues. Approximately two-thirds of the Clinical, Education and Milieu staff in The Deaf Program are culturally Deaf, and the remainder of the staff are Hearing fluent users of American Sign Language. We offer Video Relay Services for family sessions when parents or guardians cannot be present. Children in the Deaf Program also have opportunities throughout their stay to interact with the Hearing children on campus to promote positive peer interactions which will aid in a successful transition when they leave our program
